Marriage and Family Therapy

  • COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to take a serious look at the Social and Spiritual Dynamics of contemporary family life. Included in this course is the emphasis on marriage: The foundation of family life and complex families in today’s society. At the heart of family life is communication, therefore a special focus of this course will be communication, love and intimacy, and how to deal with anger and normal conflicts that occur between family members.
  • COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course students will learn how to address:
  • 1. What are the seven questions to ask before and after you marry?
  • 2. How to use Scripture in Developing a theology of the family? 3. Changing gender roles: The Impact of Family life.
  • 4. Foundational issues in marriage and family counseling.
  • 5. Divorce and Single-Parent Families, blended families.

Applicants will have the opportunity to be licensed to Christian Ministry through Spirit of Liberty Global Ministries. This diploma will prepare students to serve in Christian Ministries and para-church organizations. This program is a 2-3 year course of study depending on previous courses completed. Christian Counseling Concentration

Note: Students completing this concentration will receive a diploma in Christian Counseling.  Applicants will have the option of getting a membership to the American Association of Christian Counselors, and work in ministries with counseling programs. Christian Education Concentration
